Fees, Rebates & Payment Plans

• 50 minute initial parent consultation – $240, less any private health rebate
• 50 minute psychology/therapy session – $240, less any private health OR Medicare rebate
• 120 minute consultation – $480, less any private health rebate (standard assessment session)
• Report Writing – Short Report (approx. 4 hours+)  - $240 per 1 hour 
• Report Writing – Long Report (approx. 8-10 hours+) - $240 per 1 hour  (most full assessments require a long report but will vary in length depending on the number of assessments conducted)
• Letter/ Report – $240 (per  1 hour)
• GP letters for Medicare – no charge

• We tailor our assessment services to each individuals’ specific needs and the exact cost will be quoted at your initial consultation.
• A full learning assessment is approximately $3,300 in total (depending on the tests administered) – spread over several weeks and appointments.
• Cognitive and memory assessments are approximately $2,400 in total (depending on tests administered) – spread over several weeks and appointments.
• However, the total out-of-pocket fee will depend on any private health fund rebates you are entitled to at each of the consultations. (Note: Medicare rebates do not apply to assessments.)

If you have a valid referral from your doctor you can claim a Medicare rebate of $88.21 for each 50 minute psychology/therapy session. Up to 10 rebates can be claimed per calendar year and in some instances an additional 10 may be claimed under the COVID-19 initiative.    

Your out-of-pocket cost will be further reduced if you reach the threshold for the Medicare Safety Net scheme. 

There are two safety net schemes which operate side-by-side:                                                

1. The ‘Original’ Medicare Safety Net                                                
2. The ‘Extended’ Medicare Safety Net    

If your family reaches the extended threshold Medicare will cover 80% of any future out-of-pocket costs for out-of-hospital Medicare services for the remainder of the calendar year. 

If you are NOT claiming a Medicare rebate AND you have private health cover that includes psychology services, you can claim a private health fund rebate.  

Rebates will vary widely depending on your health fund and your level of cover. If in doubt, please check with your health fund or ask your psychologist for a health fund quote when you visit our office.

All patients are to make payment at time of their appointment or one week prior to program commencement. We have a selection of payment options available to suit your needs. 

We accepts payment with Cash, Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard. We also accept HICAPS payments from all major Australian Health Funds. Patients may also make online direct bank transfers at least two days in advance. Call the practice to obtain details. 

Our services are also available for payment via NDIS plans if Psychological services have been set in the plans goals.

Occasionally there are good reasons for cancellations. However, unlike brief medical appointments, it is nearly impossible to fill a 50+ minute session with short notice. 

Additionally, we also dedicate significant time and care to session planning and preparation and there are substantial overhead costs associated with providing you with these services. 

For these reasons, we require all clients to agree to the following notice periods in order to use our service:    

• For 50 minute appointments we require at least TWO (2) FULL BUSSINESS DAYS notice of cancellation. Cancellation within a 48 hour period or non-attendance will incur the full session fee of $240.00.    
• For an assessment appointment we require at least SEVEN (7) CALENDAR DAYS notice of cancellation  
• To fully cancel an assessment service, we require at least FOURTEEN (14) CALENDAR DAYS notice (if you are not rescheduling)
